Presenting the Recommendations of the Group -
The group is not done until its findings or decisions are presented to some type of audience. The overall purpose is present the group’s recommendations in a clear and convincing manner.
* Oral Report - a speech presenting the findings, conclusions, decisions, etc. of a small group. This is much the same in content as a written report. Typically, the group leader will deliver the report to an audience.
* Symposium - public presentation in which several people present prepared speeches on different aspects of the same topic. There is a leader/ moderator of this group who introduces the speakers and their topics. The speeches should be coordinated with each other and the over all presentation should flow as a unit.
* Panel Discussion - this is a structured conversation on a given topic among several people in front of an audience. The panel needs a moderator who introduces the people. Like the symposium, this ends with a question-and-answer session involving the audience. But while the symposium and oral report is carefully prepared and structured, the panel discussion tends to be more informal and impromptu in design. The panelists are still very prepared in knowledge; do not just “wing it” despite the fact the structure is more relaxed.

# Ref 2:

Presentation

Once a group has reached a decision, it needs to demonstrate its recommendations clearly and well.
There are several ways to do this. Types of oral presentations include:
1. Oral reports are much like a written report. In most cases one member of the group delivers the report.
2. A symposium has a moderator and several speakers seated in front of the audience. The moderator starts the speaker’s topics and introduces them. Each speaker delivers a prepared speech on a single aspect of the group’s work.
3. A panel discussion is the third kind of oral presentation. It’s basically a discussion in front of an audience. It has a moderator that keeps the discussion on track and each of the panelists speak briefly, informally, and impromptu. You must study your topic well ahead of time and be careful to make sure everyone gets a chance to voice his or her opinion.
